Drill description
F skates down the wall and around the bumper and then drives the net for a shot on goal
D skates forwards, pivots around the bumper and then skates forward and angles F
Key points
D take away the middle of the ice and don’t allow a cut back
F be creative on the attack and try to get to the middle of the ice
Feel free to make this a 2 v 1 if you want.
Coach: Alex & Tomas
Have 4 players in the zone at one time. Designate 1 player as defense. The other 3 work together to keep the puck away from defender. If the defender gets the puck out all 3 players do pushups.
Key Coaching Points:
Offense- always moving, always being an option. Communication. Creating your own space with the puck, no need to pass if you are the open option.
Defense- stick position, angles, etc.
Bonus: If you have a goalie put the net on one end. If offense still has the puck after 30 seconds or so blow the whistle and allow a 3 v 1 rush towards the net. You can feel free to do this without a goalie too.
Coach: Coach Cristian
Coach again feel free to use any drill you would like that works on fundamental skills. Pick one of your favorites.
Extra time?
Have some sort of fun game... Maybe split older and younger kids...
